Under the visionary leadership of Nara Lokesh, National General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party, it has laid an outstanding benchmark in its membership drive that is currently under progress. The party, in its 43-year-long journey, has engraved a glorious landmark by registering more than 50 lakh members in only 29 days. The membership campaign, which kicked off from October 26, has caused massive frenzy and catapulted the party to unprecedented heights, focussing the stronghold of its yellow flag.
For more than four decades, TDP had worked for the well-being of the Telugu community, and now it is scaling its wings and outreach on the regional as well as national platforms. The drive for membership is much different from the previous ones in terms of technology available today that provides for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Nara Lokesh has introduced a robust referral system, personally acknowledging top contributors across the state. This hands-on approach has ignited a wave of enthusiasm among party leaders, motivating them to participate actively in the drive.
The campaign also brings a significant enhancement in member benefits, including an increase in accidental insurance coverage. The coverage has been raised from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh, providing better security and support to members. Additionally, the new recognition system celebrates the hard work of volunteers, further encouraging them to remain engaged and committed to the cause.
Since assuming the role of National General Secretary, Nara Lokesh has brought about several key reforms aimed at strengthening the party. He has set up a grievance cell to provide assistance to party workers facing challenges and has distributed over Rs. 135 crore in financial aid to the cadre over the past five years. Furthermore, a legal wing has been established to protect party workers from wrongful cases and other legal obstacles.
Through its emphasis on modern technology and recognition of its dedicated members, TDP is making history. Enrolling 50 lakh members in just 29 days is a remarkable achievement and sets a new record in Indian political history, signaling the party’s growing influence and commitment to the people of Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
