Telugu Desam Party has released the fourth and final list of candidates. The TDP, which has announced candidates in three phases so far, finalized the candidates for the rest of the seats on Friday. The Party announced its candidates for 8 pending assembly seats and 4 MP seats and has also changed its candidate in one MLA constituency.
Former MLA Kandikunta Venkata Prasad’s wife Kandikunta Yashoda Devi was allotted a ticket for Kadiri constituency. However, after the Nampally CBI Court dismissed the case of fake DDs against former MLA Kandikunta Venkataprasad, the ticket has now been given back to Kandikunta.
On the other hand, former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao will contest from Bhimili. Chipurupalli first considered his name as a rival to Minister Botsa Satyanarayana. But Ganta Srinivasa Rao showed interest in contesting within Visakhapatnam district only. The same matter was also brought to the attention of the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
Due to this, the uncertainty continued about where Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s constituency. Finally, Ganta Srinivasa Rao was re-allocated to Bheemili, which he contested earlier. Also senior leader and former minister Kala Venkatarao and Kalishetty Appalanaidu are both hoping for the Etcherla Assembly seat.
But as part of the alliance, the Etcherla seat went to the BJP both of them were accommodated elsewhere. TDP fielded Kala Venkatarao as Chipurupalli candidate and Kalishetty Appalanayudu as Vizianagaram MP candidate.
Also in Anantapur Urban Constituency an unexpected candidate got TDP ticket. Former MLA Prabhakar Chaudhary is hoping for a ticket from here. Initially there was a speculation that this seat will be allotted to Jana Sena. Finally Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad got the seat. Guntakallu seat was also allotted to former minister Gummanuru Jayaram, who recently joined TDP from YCP.
