TDP MLAs Demand CBI probe Into Rs 300 cr. Scam In APPSC

TDP members Gorantla Butchaiah Chaudhary, Kolikalapudi Srinivasa Rao and Dhulipala Narendra have demanded in the assembly for a CBI probe into Rs 300 crore irregularities in the APPSC job appointments under the YCP government and clean up the APPSC immediately.

They deplored that during the YCP regime APPSC was turned into a rehabilitation center and given jobs with political considerations. Alleging large scale irregularities during IPS officer PSR Anjaneyluu, they demanded for a probe against job appointments during the last five years so as to take strict action against culprits.

Narendra alleged that the APPSC hiding facts in the court got an order for manual evaluation, in which 202 did not qualify and 60 percent of the total 326 did not qualify through the manual method. He said that 80 percent of people did not qualify in Telugu.

He lamented that in order to get appointments for the candidates they were interested in, the evaluation was changed frequently. Accusing Rs 300 crore scam in its recruitment, in which IAS and IPS officials were involved during YS Jagan’s regime, the Ponnur MLA demanded a thorough probe into it.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said that lakhs of youths are waiting for the APPSC exams and have lost faith in the conduct of the exams. He recalled that Chandrababu Naidu had asked for a CBI probe because he believed that there had been irregularities in the APPSC.

According to preliminary information, he said that evaluation was done at Happy Resorts, whereas APPSC papers were evaluated at JNTU during Chandrababu’s tenure, and they were evaluated at government premises.

He said that a committee has already been formed with senior IAS officers on APPSC affairs and the committee has been ordered to submit a report by August 31. As it is under the supervision of the court, after receiving the report of the committee, it will be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister and suitable action will be taken.

He said that the demand of CBI inquiry will be brought to the attention of Chandrababu. Dhulipala Narendra once again demanded that the CBI investigate due to the fact that the manual evaluation was done before the digital evaluation took place, it was trampled and then the facts were hidden before the court and the second evaluation was done.
