TDP MLA Adimulam Get Relief From High Court In sexual Assault charges

Satyavedu TDP MLA Koneti Adimulam got relief in the AP High Court from the case of sexual harassment registered against him on the complaint by a party women activist, as the court dismissed the case.  Tirupati police registered a case of sexual harassment against him on September 5 on the charges of rape and threatening to rape against a women activist.

The victim lodged a complaint with the police on September 5 at 11:15 pm. Immediately the East Police registered a case at East Police Station, where the incident took place. The victim is a woman from KVBpuram Mandal and created a sensation throughout the state by releasing  some private video tapes against the MLA to the media.

She alleged that she was sexually harassed and raped several times, has finally reconciled with him. However, surprisingly, she  appeared in the High Court on September 20 and reported that the case against the MLA and the allegations contained in it were false.

Adimulam approached the High Court to dismiss the case registered against him, and the bench took up the hearing last Friday. Senior advocate C. Raghu heard arguments on behalf of Adimulam. He explained to the court that the sections are not applicable in the case filed by the police.

He said that a male police officer registered the case which should have been registered by a female police officer, and if the incident took place in the months of July and August, the case was registered on September 5. Meanwhile, the woman filed the case with the involvement of a third person, and considering these factors, the case was sought to be dismissed.

On the other hand, Jitender, the advocate of the woman, also heard arguments in the court that all the points in the complaint given to the police by the victimized woman are untrue and that the victimized woman has submitted a notarized affidavit to the court and therefore the case should be dismissed.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge, Justice VRK Krishnasagar ruled dismissing the case on its merits.

Meanwhile, the TDP leadership took her accusations very seriously and soon after her press conference in Hyderabad, it suspended the MLA from the party.  However, after registering the case at Tirupati police station, surprisingly the woman went back on her allegations.
