Telugu Desam senior leader and former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was furious over Visakha police filing a case against the media that heard the voices of the victims. He criticized the behavior of the Kancharapalem police that the whole country is watching.
He warned that those who filed false cases must pay the price. He alleged the conspiracy was led by the Chief Secretary on the orders of Tadepalli palace. He asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to check the misuse of power by the Chief Secretary in filing illegal cases.
In Visakha,he wondered that if the victims complain, how can cases be filed against the channels that aired their grievances? He said that they have come to the situation of attacking the freedom of the media.
Devineni questioned whether it was wrong to inform the public about the anarchy of YSRCP leaders in the state. He expressed anger that the government officials and the police were following the orders from Tadepalli Palace.
He alleged that illegal cases are being filed against the media on the directions of CM Jaganmohan Reddy and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy from Tadepalli palace. He demanded that false cases against the media should be withdrawn immediately.
Accusing that the post- poll violence was the result of the conspiracy by the ruling YSRCP, he said that it is very painful to see the manner in which women are attacked.
Devineni deplored that all such violent incidents are happening under the directions of the CM Jagan and attacking opponents with a grudge that they did not vote for their party. He urged that both ECI and SIT should take necessary steps against such conspiracies.
Demanding immediate suspension of all police officers, who are neglecting their duties and acting in proximity with the ruling party, the former minister said that the Chief Secretary should be held responsible for all these incidents.
