TDP is preparing to take action against Thiruvur MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has become serious about the series of controversies of MLA since he was elected as party candidate in last year’s elections. He has asked for a report on these controversies, as he has been receiving complaints from his own party leaders.
As part of this, Kolikapudi has been ordered to appear before the party disciplinary committee on Monday to seek his explanation against some complaints. His aggressive nature and controversies have become a problem to the party leadership.
Meanwhile, the TDP disciplinary committee has sought his presence in the wake of the attack on an ST couple by the MLA in Gopalapuram village of A. Konduru mandal in NTR district. On January 11, Kolikapudi was accused of attacking an ST woman in that village. The TDP high command has taken the incident seriously.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has already expressed his deep dissatisfaction over the Thiruvur incident in the Kolalapudi case. The TDP high command has ordered an inquiry after widespread criticism was again received complaints that Kolikapudi attacked a woman.
On January 11, MLA Kolikipudi Srinivas went to Gopalapuram village to attend a private function. Later, the MLA went to their house to resolve a land dispute between his brothers. However, instead of resolving the issue amicably, the woman from the place consumed insecticide, alleging that the MLA had abused and attacked her.
It was alleged in the presence of the police and MLA, MLA’s followers attacked the couple. The woman is the Panchayat Ward member also. Then the woman was shifted to the hospital. The villagers became angry towards the MLA as in his presence only they were attacked. This has created a big uproar within the TDP and the issue went to the notice of the party chief Chandrababu Naidu.
Meanwhile, his previous comments that he had cleared the silt from crop canals with his own funds and that even dogs have faith but not farmers have, also caused a huge uproar.
