Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is facing some internal problems in Andhra Pradesh as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is finding it hard to run certain MLAs. Complaints have reached where it has been felt that the language and remarks those MLAs are flashing around are hampering both the party and the present government. Naidu has been guiding his ministers on how to keep such kinds under their grips at the cabinet meetings.
To further tackle these issues, Naidu is considering the formation of a five-member committee composed of senior TDP leaders. This committee will focus on evaluating the performance of MLAs and ensuring discipline within the party ranks. Naidu’s frustration is evident, as despite holding multiple meetings and issuing public warnings, he has seen little improvement. Reports indicate that around 15-20 MLAs are either making controversial remarks or engaging in illegal activities, particularly concerning sand and liquor.
The proposed committee will serve to buttress oversight in the sense that it will identify which MLAs are failing to deliver responsibility to the party cadre. Naidu’s plan points out his intention of preserving the dignity of TDP and rectifying any forms of disruptive activities amongst its members. In fact, the Chief Minister has plans for improving the image of the party by ensuring that its representatives live up to expectations concerning conduct.
