Tamil Director Bharathiraja’s Son Manoj Bharathiraja Passes Away at 48 

Chennai: Noted Tamil filmmaker and actor Bharathiraja’s son, actor Manoj Bharathiraja, passed away at the age of 48 on Tuesday evening. He suffered a severe heart attack and was rushed to a hospital in Chennai, where he succumbed while undergoing treatment. His demise has cast a pall of gloom over the Tamil film industry.  

Manoj had recently undergone bypass surgery and was recovering at his residence in Chetpet. However, he suffered another heart attack on Tuesday evening and was immediately taken to the hospital, where his condition deteriorated. Despite medical intervention, he could not be revived.  

Manoj made his acting debut in 1999 with Taj Mahal, directed by his father Bharathiraja. Over the years, he appeared in films such as Samudram, Kadhal Pookkal, Varushamellam Vasantham, and Eera Nilam, earning recognition for his performances. His sudden passing has left the Bharathiraja family in deep mourning, with condolences pouring in from film personalities and fans.
