Tamil Actor Jayam Ravi Faces Financial Crisis; Bank Moves To Auction Chennai Home

Kollywood star Jayam Ravi is reportedly facing significant financial difficulties, with a private bank preparing to auction his residence in Injambakkam, Chennai. The bank has issued auction notices after the actor allegedly defaulted on installments for a substantial loan he had taken, with outstanding dues reportedly exceeding ₹7.60 crore. The development has created a stir in the Tamil film industry.

Sources say Jayam Ravi, whose real name is Ravi Mohan, had borrowed the amount to finance his property purchase but failed to adhere to the repayment schedule. Bank officials confirmed that repeated reminders were sent to the actor, but due to no response, the auction process was initiated.

Adding to his troubles, Jayam Ravi is reportedly involved in a dispute with the production company Touch Gold Universal, which claims the actor took an advance of ₹6 crore for two films but opted out to work on other projects. The company has requested the seizure of his property in connection with the matter.

Industry insiders suggest that facing simultaneous pressure from both the bank and the production house has placed Jayam Ravi in a precarious financial position, marking a challenging period in his career.
