Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who made her debut with the 2005 film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, is celebrating two decades in the film industry this year. As she gears up for the release of her upcoming Telugu film Odela 2, the actress reflected on her journey in a recent interview.
Tamannaah recalled entering the industry while she was still in Class 10, expressing gratitude to her school teachers who supported her academically. “Sometimes, they even completed my assignments for me. I’m forever grateful to them,” she said, adding, “Though I never went to college in real life, I’ve played a college student on screen.”
Looking back on her career, Tamannaah said acting has never felt like a burden. “It’s been 20 years since I stepped into the industry, and I feel immense joy. I never imagined I’d come this far. I’ve enjoyed every part of the process,” she stated.
She also recounted a defining moment from her 21st birthday. “I had taken a break from shooting to celebrate at home. On that day, a major newspaper carried a special feature calling me the ‘Number 1 Actress in Tamil’. I was overwhelmed with emotion. I never expected to reach that level so quickly. But once I got there, I realised that maintaining that position is even harder. I took it as a responsibility to choose roles that entertain and connect with the audience,” she noted.
Odela 2, directed by Ashok Teja, features Tamannaah in the role of Shivashakti. The film is produced by D. Madhu under the Madhu Creations banner in association with Sampath Nandi Team Works. It is set to release on April 17. Promotional content released so far has received a positive response from viewers.
