Popular Tamil actor Suriya is finally venturing into Telugu cinema with a straight Telugu film, a much-awaited milestone in his career. Directed by skilled director Venky Atluri, the project, tentatively known as #Suriya46, was officially launched today with a traditional pooja ceremony at Hyderabad’s Ramanaidu Studios.
The movie introduces Malayalam emerging star Mamitha Baiju as the heroine. This is her Telugu debut too. Music for the movie will be scored by renowned music director GV Prakash Kumar, and it’s going to be a soulful and peppy one.
Co-produced by Sithara Entertainments, Srikara Studios, and Fortune Four Cinemas, the movie will go on floors from June 2025. The makers are looking for a Summer 2026 release with a wide theatrical spread.
It is something for which Suriya fans have been waiting for a long time, and the project brings that dream to fruition. With a good cast and crew, the collaboration is likely to bring a nice change in cinema experience for viewers in South India.
