The recent period romantic action entertainer ‘Retro,’ starring Kollywood star Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, is all set to make its way to its digital debut. The film was initially released in theaters on May 1, 2025, and received a mix of reactions from critics but still emerged as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films in 2025.
Following its theatrical run, the popular streaming platform Netflix has bagged its digital rights. Earlier, they announced that the action entertainer is coming to entertain audiences in OTT on May 31, 2025. However, in a surprise move, the streaming giant has pushed the release ahead by a day to give an early treat to Suriya fans.
Today, Netflix has announced that the holy war starts early, and fans can catch Retro on Netflix from May 30, 2025. The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
This earlier-than-expected OTT release has sparked excitement among fans to relive the retro magic. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film is jointly produced by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainments. Apart from the main leads, it also stars Joju George, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Karunakaran, Vidhu, Gajaraj, and others in significant roles. Santosh Narayan composed the retro music.
