Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the appointments of Telangana Jana Samithi president Kodandaram and Ameer Ali Khan as MLCs, delivering a landmark ruling on the Governor’s nominations.
The appointments were challenged in the apex court by BRS leaders Dasoju Shravan and Satyanarayana. The Supreme Court observed that the selections must follow proper procedures and modified its earlier interim orders. It further noted that taking oath after the issuance of interim orders was inappropriate, effectively putting the appointments on hold until further directions.
