Supreme Court Quashed FIRs At Pulivendula Against Dr Sunitha’s couple, Former CBI SP Ram Singh

The Supreme Court quashed the FIRs registered at Pulivendula station against former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr. Sunitha, her husband Rajasekhar Reddy, and the then CBI SP Ramsingh on December 15, 2023, on the complaint of Viveka’s PA Krishna Reddy.

It was felt that the case was filed during Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime against them only to misuse the law. The bench warned the lawyer representing the accused that they are not being fined out of respect for you.

Meanwhile, the CBI clarified to the Supreme Court that the investigation proved that all efforts were made without knowing that YS Vivekananda Reddy was murdered and that evidence was destroyed. It also said that there is a possibility of the death penalty being imposed on the accused in this case.

The Supreme Court, which ordered the CBI to state whether further investigation is necessary or not and how many accused should have their bail cancelled, adjourned the next hearing to the 9th of next month.

The Supreme Court has once again heard the petition filed by Dr. Sunitha seeking cancellation of bail of several accused including Avinash Reddy in the Viveka murder case. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, representing the CBI argued that considering the nature of the murder, there is a possibility of the court imposing the death penalty.

He said that erasing evidence and making evidence useless in the Viveka murder case has been proven. He explained that they first spread the news that it was a heart attack and then that it was vomiting blood. He said that they tried everything without knowing that Viveka was murdered and all the details were fully revealed during the investigation.

Senior lawyer Siddharth Luthra, representing Sunitha, urged the Supreme Court to cancel the bail of the main accused including Avinash Reddy in this case. He said that the CBI is saying that the investigation was concluded because the Supreme Court had imposed a deadline in the past and that a more in-depth investigation is needed.

He said that the real masterminds and actors need to be brought to light. The accused are not only threatening the witnesses but are also trying to destroy the evidence. Luthra told the court that MP Avinash Reddy was the mastermind in Viveka’s murder.
