Supreme Court Grants Major Relief To Jagan Mohan Reddy

Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally got much-needed relief today from the Supreme Court as a bench ruled in his favour. This came in the wake of petitions from Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju, which included two writ and bail cancellation petitions, calling for the cases of Jagan to be transferred to another state and his bail cancelled. The Supreme Court came out with its crucial ruling after deliberating on the case issues.

Therein, Raghurama had complained about delay in the cases of Jagan and had invoked the Supreme Court to intervene in the case. Raghurama urged the court by raising questions how did Jagan’s matters require to move to another State and was visibly frustrated over tardy progress at the trial before the bench canceled, hence dismissing Raghurama Krishnam Raju’s petitions wherein he had alleged without any valid cause for cancellation of Jagan bail. Following his dismissal, Raghurama withdrew his Petition.

In this ruling, it was a legal success on the part of Jagan as his bail would not be cancelled and no transfers of his cases to other states were made. The Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Nagarathna and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma also considered the arguments of CBI. He had earlier argued that the trail has been delayed for more than 12 years. With the petitions withdrawn, Jagan Mohan Reddy has gained a good legal advantage in this case.
