Bollywood director Nitesh Tiwari is set to bring the epic Ramayana to the big screen, and the prestigious project has generated considerable buzz in the industry. Sunny Deol, who will play the iconic role of Hanuman, recently shared his thoughts on this highly anticipated film. He expressed both excitement and nervousness about portraying such a legendary character and promised that his performance would be both energetic and entertaining.
In a recent interview, Sunny revealed that while he has not yet begun filming his scenes, the shoot is set to begin soon. He mentioned that the film is being made on a grand scale, and while he is eager to be part of such a massive project, he is also aware of the challenges that come with playing a character like Hanuman. “Roles like these are challenging; you need to truly live the character. The team is working relentlessly to offer a cinematic experience that will do justice to Ramayana. We are aiming for a scale comparable to Hollywood films,” said Sunny.
Sunny also spoke about the excitement of working alongside a stellar cast. He praised Ranbir Kapoor, who will portray Lord Ram, calling him a “great actor” and adding that Ranbir has done full justice to the role. The film, which is being produced with a budget of approximately ₹4,000 crores, features a star-studded ensemble cast. Apart from Sunny Deol and Ranbir Kapoor, the film will also star Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Lara Dutta, and Rakul Preet Singh in pivotal roles.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is set to be a two-part release. The first part is expected to hit theaters during Diwali 2026, with the second part following in Diwali 2027. With its grand scale and impressive cast, Ramayana is poised to offer a fresh cinematic perspective on one of the greatest epics in Indian history.
