Suniel Narang Resigns As TFCC President Within 24 Hours of Taking Charge

Hyderabad: In a dramatic turn of events, Suniel Narang has resigned from the post of President of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) less than 24 hours after assuming office. His resignation has sparked widespread discussion across the Telugu film industry.

The newly elected TFCC executive body was announced on Saturday, with Narang elected as President for the third time. Sridhar was appointed as Secretary, along with 15 executive committee members. During the meeting, Narang addressed ongoing controversies related to theatre ownership, stating that the concerned theatres remained with their respective owners. He also remarked that actors are regarded as deities in the industry and that no exhibitor, distributor, or producer would dare speak against them. Citing Pawan Kalyan as an example, Narang described him as a “storm,” asserting that no one had the authority to halt his film releases.

However, on Sunday, Narang released an official statement announcing his resignation. He expressed displeasure over public statements being issued without his knowledge or approval. Clarifying that he could not be held accountable for such actions, Narang stated that he found it untenable to continue under the prevailing circumstances and hence decided to step down from the post.
