Srikanth Odela Slams Culprits Behind Film Leaks

In today’s fast-paced digital world, social media has made information more accessible than ever. However, this convenience has come at a cost, especially for the film industry. The rise of unauthorized leaks, from on-set photos to spoilers, has disrupted the excitement and anticipation that filmmakers work tirelessly to create.

Several high-profile films, including Pushpa 2, Toxic, Coolie, The Paradise, and Kannappa, have fallen victim to these leaks. A particular incident that caused upset among the Kannappa team was when Prabhas’ look from the film was shared online without prior consent. The filmmakers swiftly took action to identify the source of the leak.

Srikanth Odela, director of Dasara, also addressed the leaks on his X account. He called out the unfair blame directed at Assistant Directors and Writers, saying, These people are the future creators, and their selfless contribution to cinema deserves the utmost RESPECT! Change the habit of blaming it on actual hard-working film departments and learn to admit your greediness.”  He also made it clear that the leak of his film’s title was not from his team, adding, “I know the bastards who leaked my title, and THEY ARE NOT FROM MY TEAM.”

While some leaks may be accidental, many appear to be deliberate, with certain filmmakers using “leaked” images to build hype. As these unauthorized leaks continue to cause disruptions, the Telugu Film Industry (TFI) must find better ways to safeguard creative content, ensuring that surprises remain intact for the audience until the official release.
