Police have registered a case against journalist Krishnam Raju, Sakshi channel moderator Kommineni Srinivas Rao and the channel’s management at Thullur police station in Guntur district for speaking in a derogatory manner about capital Amaravati women. The police registered the case on the complaint filed by capital women on Sunday.
The police have registered a case under the IT Act, SC and ST Act and other non-bailable sections. Special police teams have been deployed to arrest Krishnam Raju and Kommineni Srinivas Rao. Krishnam Raju and his family have been absconding after locking themselves in their house in Vijayawada for two days.
Special police teams have gone to Hyderabad from Vijayawada and Guntur districts to search for Kommineni. Moreover, Patamata police also registered a case against them in Vijayawada on the complaint given by NTR District Telugu Mahila.
Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu lamented that these comments are most objectionable. In a post on social media platform X, he said “I strongly condemn the blasphemy of some people about the farmers who gave their lands for the capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati. Such despicable comments are extremely cruel and heinous”.
“Society cannot tolerate them. Even farmers who have just one acre of land not only gave their lands for the capital, but also fought a heroic fight against the repression that was inflicted on them in the subsequent period”, he added.
“In the Amaravati region, agriculture is their main profession and their livelihood. The sacrifices they made for future generations are immeasurable. The comments made against such farmers, especially women idols, are heinous. It is an unforgivable crime to violate the self-respect of girls. Strict action should be taken against everyone responsible for this,” Venkaiah Naidu demanded.
Meanwhile, Former Minister Vadde Shobha Nadreeswara Rao has expressed his deep anger over Krishna Raju’s extremely objectionable and uncivilized remarks that have seriously hurt the sentiments of women in the capital Amaravati. He demanded that Krishna Raju unconditionally apologize to the women of the capital.
While touring Amaravati on Monday, he said that it is not right for journalists Krishna Raju and Sakshi Media to treat the sentiments of the capital’s farmers in a way that hurts them and urged the government to take immediate legal and criminal action against Krishna Raju. He demanded that the Sakshi management, Jagan and Bharathi take moral responsibility in this matter.
