Speaker Indicates Action Against YS Jagan For Boycotting Assembly session

Speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu indicated that the Assembly likely to take action against former chief minister and YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy for boycotting the session, begins on Monday. Speaking at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, he   said that if YSRCP chief Jagan does not come to the assembly, the law will take its course.

Interestingly, while all 11 YCP MLAs are boycotting the present Assembly session, all of its MLCs are attending Legislative Council sessions, where it is having `Opposition Status’. Jagan is protesting for denying him ‘Opposition Status’, though his party failed to get the required minimum number of MLAs.

Meanwhile, the BAC has decided to hold the sessions until the 22nd of this month. Speaker said that the assembly sessions should be held seriously. He said that there will be training classes for all MLAs in the assembly committee hall on the budget on Tuesday. He said that a decision has been taken to hold the assembly on Saturday as well.

He said that the assembly will be held in two parts for a few days in accordance with the bills and discussions. Ayyanna revealed that the BAC has decided to approve eight bills as well as government policies.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said in the BAC meeting that the assembly sessions will not be stopped for anyone. He said that it is the responsibility of the members to hold responsible discussions on public issues. He recalled that there were occasions in 1995 when they had dinner the night before at 4 am.

He instructed the MLAs to attend the assembly as a matter of course and take it seriously. CM Chandrababu said that the chief whip and whips will be finalized tomorrow.

Jana Sena party leader Nadendla Manohar said that he saw Chandrababu’s modesty in the assembly when he was the speaker. BJP party leader Vishnu Kumar Raju said in the BAC meeting that the assembly sessions should be held for at least 15 days. He wanted a discussion on Rushikonda, which was built by misusing public money. Vishnukumar Raju requested all MLAs to visit Rushikonda one day.
