Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu Announces Retirement From politics In 2029

Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu announced that he has had enough of his political life and is taking a complete break from his political life. He made it clear that he will not contest in the 2029 elections. He also revealed that he is also getting old and that he has seen a very long political life.

Ayyanna Patrudu, who entered politics with the start of TDP by NT Rama Rao in 1982 and contested elections since 1983, is probably one of the longest surviving political leaders in the state. He has been trying to project his son Vijay as his political successor and expects to facilitate his son to contest from his seat in the next elections.

He also told the party leaders that positions and powers are not permanent for anyone. But the good deeds done by those working in the party during their tenure will bring them recognition as good people forever, he added. He expressed confidence that he will complete the good deeds he wanted to do for the people of the state by 2029.

Saying that he has no intention of hiding anything from serving the people anymore, he revealed that he still has a term of four years and eight months as the Narsipatnam MLA and that he will use this term to the fullest for the welfare of the people.

However,  Ayyanna Patrudu’s latest statement has caused a debate in the political circles of AP. Because he had previously stated that he did not want to contest in the 2019 elections. But the party leadership prevailed on him to contest again as the elections were very crucial for the TDP at that time.

In 2024 too, a large-scale campaign was carried out as if he had asked for a ticket for his son. Again, party chief Chandrababu Naidu fielded him this time too and he won. Though he had aspired to become a minister, the Chief Minister chose him as Speaker, a constitutional position. Now, what is Ayyanna’s plan behind his recent announcement that he will take another political retirement has become interesting.
