The SIT has confirmed that Balaji Kumar Yadav and Naveen Krishna, close aides of YSRCP key leader and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, have transferred money from liquor bribes to YSRCP candidates during last year’s elections. It has been revealed that Rs. 8 crore to Rs. 9 crore were transferred in each installment, totaling Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 crore.
To this extent, both of them were arrested and produced in court. The remand report states that they were very loyal to Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and this conspiracy was carried out on his orders. The SIT investigation revealed that the money spent by YSRCP candidates in several constituencies in the state in the general elections last year was drawn from liquor bribes.
It was confirmed that Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who is a very close associate of former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, ran this affair from close quarters. It is clear that Balaji and Naveen, who are very loyal to Chevireddy, along with some other key followers and staff, participated in the transfer of this bribe money.
The SIT said that on the orders of Chevireddy, they had been transferring cash from Hyderabad and Tadepalli to YSRCP leaders in Chittoor and Prakasam districts from time to time. It said that they would have to be questioned in depth on issues such as how they took bribes from Raj Kasireddy and his team? To whom did they transfer it? The SIT officials who arrested Balaji and Naveen Krishna in Madhya Pradesh were produced before the Vijayawada ACB court on Wednesday.
SIT officials said that Balaji Kumar Yadav was an employee of APSPDCL but was always with Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy. Naveen Krishna, who worked as a PA for Chevireddy, revealed that both of them trusted him. Along with them, it is said that Chevireddy used Giridhar, who worked as a gunman for him, his friend Venkatesh Naidu and some others to move the liquor bribe money.
