The SIT team has almost identified perpetrators in the case of supplying substandard ghee for making Srivari laddus at Tirumala. Now, the hunt for the masterminds is about to begin. Based on the investigation done so far, the SIT believes that 12 persons and officials of the TTD are involved in this matter. It is reported that the investigation will continue for another two to three months to conclude the case.
Four people have already been arrested. Notices will be issued to summon a key official who played a key role in the past, as well as a key official from the TTD governing body, for questioning. It is learned that there is a possibility of direct detention and even arrest of the remaining three.
AR Dairy MD Rajasekharan, Bholebaba Dairy directors Pomil Jain, Vipin Jain, and Vaishnavi Dairy CEO Vinaykanth Chavda, who were taken into custody by the court from judicial custody on Friday, were questioned by the SIT officials for the second day on Saturday also.
CBI Joint Director Veeresh Prabhu, who is leading the SIT, and CBI DIG Murali Ramba questioned the four main accused separately on Saturday as well. It is learned that no matter what question was asked, all four gave the same answer as if they were all together. However, the SIT officials obtained key information from the accused on the second day of interrogation.
It was concluded that the irregularities occurred when Bholebaba Dairy of Uttarakhand supplied ghee under the name of AR Dairy, which won the tenders. The SIT officials questioned the accused in order to unravel the mystery of the supply of adulterated ghee. How did they participate in the ghee supply tenders organized by TTD even though they were not eligible?
Why did Bholebaba Dairy pay the entire EMD of the tender submitted by AR Dairy? How did they get approval in the technical bid even though they did not have the technical capacity to supply ghee to the needs of TTD? Why did Sri Vaishnavi Dairy Executive Officer Kalikulla Khan go into hiding?
Who was the big person who helped AR Dairy win the ghee supply tender even though they were not eligible? The adulterated ghee accused were choked with a series of questions asked by the SIT.
