Singer Mangli has strongly refuted allegations of political bias following her visit to the Arasavalli Sun Temple alongside Union Minister Rammohan Naidu. Facing criticism from certain TDP cadres and social media users, she issued an open letter clarifying her stance.
Expressing her gratitude to those who support her music, Mangli stated, *“I am deeply hurt by the misinformation being spread over the past week. It was an honor to be invited to the Ratha Saptami celebrations in Arasavalli. After the event, I wished to visit the temple, and Minister Rammohan Naidu’s family invited me to join them. It is unfair to politicize a temple visit and make baseless allegations.”*
Addressing claims about her political affiliations, Mangli clarified that she had sung for YSRCP leaders before the 2019 elections but never spoke against any other political party. *“I have performed for leaders from various parties, not just YSRCP. In fact, I lost several opportunities because of it and faced humiliation. My belief is that my songs should be a part of every household’s celebrations, not political campaigns. In the 2024 elections, I have not sung for any party,”* she added.
Mangli also addressed her advisory role at SVBC, stating that the channel officials approached her, and she accepted it out of devotion to Lord Venkateswara. “I did not publicize it because I did not seek it for political reasons or personal gain,” she clarified.
Dismissing rumors that she refused to sing for TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Mangli termed the claims as politically motivated. “Chandrababu Naidu holds a special place in the country’s political history. In 2019, similar misinformation was spread against me using video clips. I have no political affiliations or biases. I am not a campaigner for any party. My priority is my music. Coming from a tribal background, it is disheartening to face such targeted criticism. I request everyone not to politicize my songs—I have no connection with any political party,” she asserted.
