Simran Clarifies Remarks on ‘Dabba Cartel’ Controversy

Veteran actress Simran has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent comments at an awards event, where she praised a fellow actress but felt hurt by the latter’s reply. The remarks sparked speculation that Simran was referring to an actress from the popular series Dabba Cartel. Speaking exclusively, Simran clarified the misunderstanding and elaborated on her views about taking on character roles.

Simran explained that she had sent a message appreciating a co-actor’s performance in a film, to which she received a response suggesting that playing motherly or aunt roles is preferable to “dabba” (low-quality) roles. This exchange led Simran to comment publicly that embracing such dignified roles with confidence is better than accepting meaningless parts.

“I watched the Dabba Cartel series and found it very good. However, my comments were misunderstood. The actress I mentioned apologized and clarified that she did not intend to hurt me,” Simran said. She added that people read too much into the situation and stressed her straightforward approach to communication.

Simran emphasized the importance of self-belief in acting and urged artists to respect every role they portray. “Whatever work we do, it should be done with confidence. Only when we trust ourselves can we deliver the best. Nothing should be looked down upon,” she remarked.
