Kamal Haasan and Siddharth’s much-anticipated film “Indian 2” is set to release on July 12, with the actors actively participating in promotional events. However, during a recent media interaction, both stars were questioned about recent comments made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The Chief Minister suggested that actors should make a two-minute video against drugs to qualify for increased ticket prices for their films.
In response, Siddharth made some striking remarks. “I have acted in many Telugu films,” he said. “I was the first actor in Hyderabad to pose for hoardings with a condom in my hands, promoting safe sex. I believe in taking responsibility as an actor, and we will demonstrate our commitment whenever required.”
Siddharth also criticized the Chief Minister’s approach, stating, “It’s not correct for the CM to mandate that we must do something specific to get a benefit like increased ticket prices.” His comments quickly went viral on social media, sparking a debate among netizens. Some felt it was inappropriate for Siddharth to react to the Telangana CM’s request in such a manner.
Amidst the backlash, Siddharth posted a video apologizing for his remarks. He clarified that his intention was not to criticize Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and that his words had been misunderstood. Siddharth emphasized that he and his colleagues always support anti-corruption and anti-drug initiatives.
