Karnataka and Telangana are two major states, where Congress is in power. As Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah landed in trouble after the Governor gave permission to prosecute him in the MUDA land scam, observers felt that this was pushing Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also into trouble.
At a time, intense efforts are going on to replace Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister in Karnataka, many Congress leaders felt that any change of Chief Minister in the neighbouring state will also lead to a similar change in Telangana also, seeking replacement of Revanth Reddy.
Karnataka’s PWD minister Satish Jarkiholi predicted that if Siddaramaiah’s government faces any problem in Karnataka, it will affect Revanth’s government in Telangana also. “Just like Siddaramaiah gets notices here, Revanth may also get notices there. He can also be targeted. Now if Siddaramaiah is removed from the post of CM, Revanth will also have to be removed”, he added.
A report by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a recent investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have revealed that the roots of the MUDA scam worth Rs.187 crores, which is shaking the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka, are also spread to Hyderabad.
As part of the scam, the SIT report stated that Rs.44.6 crores have been deposited into the accounts of nine Hyderabad-based companies. These accounts belong to companies belonging to IT, jewellery, liquor and other sectors. SIT and ED reports revealed that this scam money was spent by a party before the recent Lok Sabha elections.
We can confirm that Revanth Reddy is likely to be get summons in Karnataka CM’s case, as we see that the ‘Valmiki scam’ is happening in Congress-ruled Karnataka, the money from there is going to Telangana, the Revanth government is in power in Telangana, and if we see the sensational comments made by Jarkiholi, a strong leader of the ‘Valmiki’ community, about the notices.
On the other hand, 161 cases have been registered against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in 89 police stations across the state so far. There are more than 70 criminal cases in this. Revanth himself disclosed this in the affidavit submitted in the 2023 assembly elections.
In 2015, Revanth Reddy, who was in TDP, paid MLA Stephenson Rs. 50 lakh, which was caught by a camera. This is popularly known as the ‘note to vote’ case. The case is currently pending in the Supreme Court.
Very recently, BRS leader Krishank filed a complaint with the ED against Revanth Reddy reaching into MoU for Rs 1,000 crore investment proposals with a company allegedly belonging to his brother. Congress leadership is fearing that all these cases may give scope to push into big trouble, if Siddaramaiah is removed from the chair.
