YSRCP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarayana made sensational comments, alleging that some people were conspiring to kill him. He said that he would write a letter to the Governor and Chief Secretary asking them to investigate the matter. He asked the responsibility of the Collector and SP over the collapse of the stage during the Paiditalli Sirimanotsavam.
He alleged that some people were trying to kill him out of personal vendetta. Botsa reacted strongly to the collapse of the stage set up for his family members and YSRCP leaders during the Paiditalli Sirimanotsavam. He said that he would not play politics during the Vizianagaram Paidimamba Ammavari festival, and if he did, he would immediately rectify it.
However, the former minister accused the officials of displaying a dual attitude this year and not respecting traditions except for shouting and arrogance. He said that the area is prosperous due to the kindness of the Goddess Pydithallamma, who is a descendant of North Andhra and that earlier the elders used to organize festivals with their own funds.
Now they are being held on a large scale in the presence of the government and officials. He said that he participated in the festivals when he was a minister for 15 years and an MP for 5 years. But this year, he criticized the officials for not following the proper standards and that some people behaved strangely for the sake of fame. He said that the festival was not based on noise and arrogance, but on traditions.
Botsa said that he was not saying this personally, and that no matter where people knocked on doors in Vizianagaram town, they would say the same thing. Stating that the Goa Governor was still in Vizianagaram, he wondered what happened to his previous words? Why did he not stand as a guide for the officials?.
He said that he had written a letter on his personal protocol regarding the darshan of the Goddess, and the officials had made the necessary arrangements for it, but everyone saw what happened during the festivals. He expressed deep concern over the collapse of the stage where they were sitting.
Botsa asked whether this was a conspiracy, the negligence of the officials, or a plan to humiliate them, or to end them? He demanded that the officials answer this. He said that in the incident where the stage collapsed, MLC Suresh Babu’s hand was dislocated, another person suffered a fracture, and another girl also suffered injuries.
