In response to the comments made by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the Tirupati meeting, AP Congress President Sharmila expressed her strong disapproval.
“Do not assume that your power is permanent… The remarks you made targeting Rahul Gandhi at the Tirupati meeting are baseless and unacceptable under any circumstances,” she stated. Sharmila mentioned that the Congress party condemns Pawan Kalyan’s attempt to drag Rahul Gandhi into his religious politics and demanded an unconditional apology from him.
“Since coming to power, both the demeanor and language of Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan have changed. Has Janasena, which was once a secular party, now transformed into a right-wing party? While holding a responsible position, if you dress up as a member of a particular religion and claim that religion is paramount, wouldn’t it create a sense of insecurity for other religions? Did people of other religions not vote for you in the elections? Do people of other religions not have sentiments?
If using religion as a tool for politics is the RSS ideology, then Pawan Kalyan has become a double agent for that ideology. You, who act under the direction of Prime Minister Modi, have no moral standing to speak about Rahul Gandhi.
Isn’t it the BJP that orchestrated the violence in Godhra and Manipur? Can you expect us to believe that you advocate for secularism while supporting such a party? Rahul Gandhi has walked thousands of kilometers to promote love, equality, and brotherhood in the country. It is inappropriate to make remarks about such a person… Do not lower your stature,” Sharmila clarified.
