Sharmila Claims Jagan Supported Social Media Smear Campaign Against Her

It is now that Andhra Pradesh PCC President, YS Sharmila, has hurled some serious allegations against her brother, who heads the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). A candid post on social media by Sharmila revealed to the world that even she was a target of such defamatory campaigns and expects tacit support from Jagan because he didn’t take enough initiative in stopping them. She makes it abundantly clear that had Jagan acted, the smear campaign against her would have stopped immediately.

Sharmila also took a strong stance against the YSRCP’s social media team, labeling them a “toxic army” that relentlessly attacks anyone who opposes the party. Expressing her concern about the hostile environment this creates for women in politics, she highlighted the fear and intimidation they face as a result of these online attacks.

In her statement, Sharmila demanded accountability for those responsible for the online harassment, comparing them to venomous snakes that spread poison across social media. She also directed sharp criticism at Jagan for his alleged arrogance in skipping assembly sessions, reminding him that the people who once gave him a majority of 151 seats now only trust him with 11, reflecting public dissatisfaction with his governance and allegations of corruption.

Sharmila called on Jagan to respect the will of the people and condemned his conduct in the assembly, particularly his actions in blocking microphones. She questioned the legitimacy of electing YSRCP MLAs if they refused to fulfill their duties in the assembly, accusing them of betraying the very public that voted for them. In her conclusion, Sharmila urged any MLA who is not willing to serve the people to step down, reiterating that they were elected to represent the people but have failed to do so.
