Y.S. Sharmila has levelled serious allegations against Avinash Reddy, saying he had threatened witnesses and obstructed the investigation in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case. She alleged that Avinash, who is on bail at present, has been harassing CBI officials to sign fake reports with a view to influencing the case in his favour.
Saying she was extremely concerned about Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Sunitha, Sharmila raised the issue of mysterious deaths of a number of important witnesses and expressed fear for her own safety. She said that justice was being delayed as Avinash remained free while the legal process to cancel his bail was on.
Sharmila also revealed that the affidavit filed by the government to cancel Avinash’s bail has vital evidence against his alleged intimidating methods against investigation officers. Sharmila claimed that a fictitious report was prepared to frame Sunitha and her husband, despite the fact that Avinash himself was said to have been at the crime scene when Vivekananda Reddy was killed.
Shrugging off social media reports that she had remained quiet over the matter, Sharmila reaffirmed her support for ensuring justice for Vivekananda Reddy. She was also frustrated by the failure of the government to make a decisive breakthrough in the investigation despite the change in the government. On the other hand, the fabricated case lodged against a CBI officer has now been filed in the Supreme Court in the form of an affidavit, and further action will hinge on the ruling of the court.
