Setback To TDP, senior Leader In Rayalaseema Sugavasi Resigns

It has been a year since the alliance came to power. The situation at the field level is changing within a year. Many leaders who have been supporting the Telugu Desam Party for decades are gradually moving away. Especially, the leaders who faced the ruling party head-on when the party was in the opposition are keeping silent.

However, those who joined the party before the elections and got positions as MLAs, MPs and ministers are the ones who are enjoying the fruits of power. There is also criticism that many MLAs and ministers are mostly seen with YSRCP ranks. Especially in the Rayalaseema districts, where the TDP is trying to challenge dominance, the equations are changing.

Now a senior TDP leader sent his resignation letter to party chief Chandrababu Naidu, causing a stir. The resignation of the leader who has worked in the party for a long time is now becoming a sensation.

Senior TDP leader from Rajampet Sugavasi Balasubramaniam, who contested in many elections, has resigned.  Sugavasi, who contested from Rajampet as a coalition candidate in the 2024 elections, was defeated by YSRCP candidate Akepati Amarnath Reddy.

After that, due to the changing equations in the constituency Sugavasi has been staying away from party programs. Sugavasi has been staying away from Chief Minister Chandrababu’s visit to the district. After the coalition government came to power, Sugavasi also made key comments in party meetings.

Interestingly, though he was not active in the party when it was in the opposition, he was given a seat ignoring the constituency incharge B. Changalrayalu, who was active during that time, due to ulterior motives.

Sugavasi has lashed out at key leaders of his own party. He expressed his concern that the MLC from Kadapa district is trying to prevent any government officials from coming to the Rajampet constituency. He alleged that he had conspired with YSRCP leaders to defeat him in the last election.

He said that the details of those who cheated in the election are with the party leadership. Sugavasi, who has worked in the party for four decades, seems to be upset that no action has been taken against them despite explaining the situation in the constituency.

Similarly, he criticized the minister from the joint district for being involved in corruption. He accused him of being involved in sand mining in the constituency on several occasions. With this, Sugavasi, who had been waiting for action against them for a year, has now revealed his decision in his resignation letter.
