Former YCP MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy has suffered a setback in the AP High Court. The AP High Court has made it clear that it will not interfere with the production stoppage orders at Veerabhadra Shrimp Export Company.
The Pollution Control Board has complained that waste is being discharged into the crop canal without being treated. Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy has approached the High Court to suspend the PCB orders. The High Court has ordered the Pollution Control Board to file a counter. The AP High Court has adjourned the hearing to January 3.
Meanwhile, major violations have been revealed in the second shrimp processing company owned by former Kakinada City YCP MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy. The Pollution Control Board (PCB) has found that pollution norms are being violated at every step in the factory operating in Lampakalova, Prathipadu mandal. Even after spending three months to rectify these, it is not insurmountable.
However, the authorities are not taking steps to seal the factory. They are showing undue love for that factory. It has been decided to give a second chance to rectify the shortcomings. There are suspicions that some PCB officials are cooperating behind the scenes.
Dwarampudi has a shrimp factory named Veerabhadra Exports in the name of his brother in Lampakalova village of Prathipadu mandal of Kakinada district. The trucks and tippers coming and going to this factory are obstructed by a stream called Suddagedda between Prathipadu and Lampakalova. Even with a little rain, this stream overflows.
Due to this, in 2021, the then Collector Muralidhar Reddy personally went and inspected the Suddagedda stream. A bridge was built on March 25, 2021 at a cost of Rs. 2.70 crore. Although 40,000 people from ten villages had been fighting for the construction of a bridge here for 20 years, nothing was done until then. After the construction of the Dwarampudi shrimp factory, a road-cum-bridge was constructed without any problem for the vehicles of that company.
