Setback For KTR As High Court Dismisses Petition In Formula E Car Race Case

In a major flip-flop, the Telangana High Court dismissed the petition moved by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) seeking to quash the case filed against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with the Hyderabad Formula E car race scam. The court agreed with the ACB and rejected KTR’s plea to drop the charges.

KTR was the first one in the list of Accused No 1 (A1) and had approached the High Court against the case being framed. Earlier, when the case petition was pending, the court had passed a stay on his arrest; after the conclusion of hearings, this bench headed by Justice Lakshman dismissed the petition and revoked the stay on the arrest of KTR.

This judgment is a huge blow to KTR in this ongoing legal battle, and it further increases the glare of the high-profile case.
