Senior IPS officer Siddharth Kaushal from AP has issued a statement stating that he is resigning from the Indian Police Services voluntarily and that there is no political pressure on him. He said that he has sent his resignation letter to the DGP.
He explained that he is an IIM (Indian Institute of Management) student. In this context, he said that he is resigning from this IPS job after getting a good offer. He is an IPS officer of 2000 batch, from the combined Andhra Pradesh. After the bifurcation of the state, he was allotted to AP by the Department of Personnel and Training.
He is known for being straightforward in the performance of his duties. He worked as a Superintendent of Police in several districts. He worked as an SP in several districts like Krishna, Prakasam, and Nellore. He is known for being straightforward in the performance of his duties and not bowing to any pressure.
He is presently working as SP (Admin) in the DGP office. Siddharth Kaushal said that his decision to resign was a personal decision and there was no pressure in it. Stating that he had to give some time and priority to his family, he dismissed speculations that he had to resign from the IPS due to political harassment or coercion by others.
He described the campaign as baseless and misleading. He explained that he had taken the decision to resign freely and independently. Siddharth Kaushal commented that working in AP gave him great satisfaction. He said that AP has always been like his own home and he has formed an inseparable bond with the people here.
However, his sudden resignation despite a long service, raises many doubts. It is said that all the senior IPS officers working in AP are also facing extreme pressure, and Siddharth Kaushal’s resignation can be considered as evidence of this. It may be recalled that many IPS officers have been waiting for posting for a long time and some are facing suspensions and transfers.
