Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has announced the imposition of Section 144 in Hyderabad, effective from 6 PM on October 27 until November 28. This decision entails restrictions on public gatherings, meetings, and rallies within the city for one month.
Commissioner Anand specified that no meetings or rallies will be permitted, and emphasized that actions will be taken against individuals conducting assemblies without prior permission. The orders restrict gatherings of five or more people, as well as rallies and public meetings. He noted that any actions causing inconvenience to the public will not be tolerated.
These directives were issued under Section 163 (previously Section 144) of the B.N.S.S. 2023. However, the order allows for peaceful protests and demonstrations at Indira Park Dharna Chowk. The police have also announced a ban on protests throughout the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
