Review:
Venkatesh gives a tremendous performance, easily drawing the attention of the audience with his perfect comedy timing. Every time the pace of the movie falters, he brings it back to the track of humor and makes the comedy shine all the way.
Aishwarya Rajesh does a good job as the charming yet jealous wife. Her chemistry with Venkatesh is believable and relatable.
Meenakshi Chaudhary, playing the ex-girlfriend, carries out her character well, and her chemistry with both leads adds a refreshing dash of comedy to the film.
Supporting cast, including Upendra Limaye and Saikumar, also did well and were respective crucial in lending support that heightened the film’s amusing quotient. Though at times, their characters were a tad too much, they went a long way in elevating this comedy film.
Apart from the major heroes, other notable actors Naresh, VTV Ganesh, Srinivas Avasarala, Pammi Sai and Murali Goud enhanced the film with their interesting presence, adding layers to the enjoyment that makes this film amusing to watch.
The film’s first half offers an engaging combination of humor and catchy musical numbers that keep the audience entertained. Much of the comedy stems from the lively interactions within the family. A standout moment occurs when the son, Bulliraju, humorously defends his father by using colorful language during a family dispute. The heartfelt chemistry between Venkatesh and his son adds a warm, relatable layer to the storyline.
However, the second half shifts gears, adopting a road movie-style narrative where the main characters are chased by police and goons. Although the humorous dynamic between the wife and ex-girlfriend was initially fun, it gradually starts to lose its spark as the film progresses. The pacing slows, and the humor begins to feel repetitive, resulting in a dip in overall engagement.
Musically, Bheems delivers with three catchy songs that fit well within the film’s tone. The background score is functional but does not elevate the overall experience. While the production quality is acceptable, there’s room for improvement to maintain momentum and keep the energy flowing throughout the movie.
This blend of humor, music, and family dynamics makes the first half enjoyable, while the second half could have benefited from a more polished approach to keep the audience hooked.
Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is a film that is likely to appeal to family audiences, with Venkatesh’s charismatic performance being one of its biggest highlights, alongside its catchy musical tracks. The first half of the film strikes a pleasant balance between humor and heartwarming moments, making it an engaging watch. However, as the story progresses into the second half, it shifts toward more farcical comedy, which might not resonate with all viewers. While some comedic sequences land well, others come off as over-the-top. Despite these inconsistencies, the film remains entertaining, offering light-hearted fun, though those looking for a tightly woven and coherent plot may find it lacking.
