Venkatesh’s latest film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam has emerged as the biggest hit of his career, securing a spot among this year’s top blockbusters. Following its theatrical success, the family entertainer is set for its digital premiere on Zee5, which has acquired the film’s OTT rights.
Recent reports indicate that the OTT version will include additional comedy scenes that were removed from the theatrical release due to runtime constraints. Director Anil Ravipudi is reportedly restoring these sequences, particularly those featuring Venkatesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary in flashback portions, as well as scenes involving Meenakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh. While an official announcement is awaited, speculation suggests that the film will begin streaming on March 1.
Meanwhile, producer Dil Raju is reportedly considering a Bollywood remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, with Akshay Kumar being speculated to reprise Venkatesh’s role in the Hindi version.
