Malayalam cinema’s versatile actress Samyuktha appears to have shifted all her attention to Tollywood completely. Having established herself in the Malayalam film industry, she made a memorable debut in Telugu with Bheemla Nayak, earning acclaim for her performance as Rana’s on-screen wife. Since then, she has been consistently grabbing interesting opportunities, having her share of highs and lows in her film career.
Currently, Samyuktha is busier in Telugu movies than in her native industry. She has three massive projects on hand — Akhanda 2 with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nari Nari Naduma Murari with Sharwanand, and Nikhil Siddhartha’s ambitious period epic Swayambhu. Interestingly, for the character in Swayambhu, she has even undergone horse-riding training so that she becomes authentic on screen.
Trade buzz is that even one such blockbuster out of these three would solidify her position among Tollywood’s busiest heroines. Aside from her movie commitments, Samyuktha has been busy interacting with Telugu people — participating in public functions.
Akhanda 2 is planned for a September 25 release, while the release of Swayambhu and Nari Nari Naduma Murari hasn’t been firmed up. Familiar with making unconventional career decisions, Samyuktha is not one to hesitate in sharing screen space with stars like Balakrishna. With Swayambhu being made on a large budget scale and Sharwanand’s film already generating buzz with its teaser, the next few months could be defining ones for her.
To her increasing connect with the Telugu public and her forthcoming films click at the box office, Samyuktha may quite possibly establish Tollywood as her home for the long term.
