Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was unnecessarily dragged into the political slugfest between the ruling and the opposition parties of Telangana. Revanth Reddy’s Minister Konda Surekha made needless allegations about Samantha publicly and sparked a huge controversy which led to massive uproar in Tollywood circles and political circles alike. Her statements united the whole film industry and threw her party into a tight corner.
Akkineni Nagarjuna immediately condemned the allegations and Samantha too responded to the Minister’s critical remarks through an official statement via her social media platform. Now, she is going to attend a filmy event on Tuesday evening in Hyderabad. This is her first media apperance after a long time and also after the Minister’s comments.
Reportedly, the pre-release event of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film Jigra is going to be held in Hyderabad today evening. Trivikram Srinivas, Samantha and Rana Daggubati will attend the event as chief guests. All eyes are now on Samantha’s speech during this event. As the controversy kicked up a political row, everyone is expecting that Samantha will express her opinion in the media.
But, it is unlikely that Samantha will further rake up any controversy with her statements at this point of time. Sources revealed that Samantha will not comment on the issue and also asked the media to refrain from asking anything about it. As the Minister tendered a public apology for her statements and also the fact that Revanth Reddy is furious with film industry for blowing the issue out of proportion, Samantha might not add anymore fuel to the controversy.
