Sajjala Stuns Mangalagiri Police and Delivers a Warning to the Government

YSRCP General Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy arrived at the Mangalagiri Rural Police Station at approximately 3:30 PM to respond to the notices pertaining to the attack on the TDP office during the earlier YSR Congress government. Along with lawyer Ponnavolu and MLC Lella Appireddy, they all went in; however, only Sajjala was allowed inside for questioning. About an hour later, he emerged with the investigating officer after undergoing interrogation for that duration.

As per the statements provided by Mangalagiri Rural CI Srinivas, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is an accused in the case according to the list and no. 120 and he was asked to give his mobile phone. But it is said that Sajjala was not agreeable to this. Srinivas elaborated that they asked him whether he was involved in the attack made on the TDP office but he was less than helpful to them. He also said that although he has all the evidence in support of it, Sajjala claims he is out of the Town as of now.

Mangalagiri CI said that the investigation into the TDP office attack has come to a standstill since the accused have obtained stay orders from the accused persons to the High Court and to the Supreme Court. He underscored the fact, however, that the contour of the case will only be put in place after the arrests are carried out. The CI said that Sajjala was put to 38 questions, all which he is said to have answered that he either did not know the answers or could not recall some answers. He noted that since the accused are avoiding engagement and waiting for court orders, this case will now be sent up to the CID for investigation.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy – who is YSR Congress Party’s Andhra Pradesh unit secretary – blamed the police for the bias towards the leaders of the YSRCP in the recent developments on the investigation of the TDP office attack. He claimed that after coming to power, the TDP has completely relegated its concern for people and good administration, and overtly excluded the above
