Director Sailesh Kolanu has consistently expressed his vision for the HIT franchise, aiming to expand it into a series of seven cases. After Vishwak Sen took the lead in HIT: The First Case and Adivi Sesh in HIT: The Second Case, Nani now steps into the spotlight for HIT: The Third Case. Expectations are high for this new installment, especially with the story set against the backdrop of India’s borders, coupled with a larger budget and more ambitious storytelling. The team is confident that HIT 3 will surpass its predecessors.
Scheduled for release on May 1st, HIT 3 will pave the way for Sailesh Kolanu’s next venture. According to reports, the director has already crafted a new script, which he has shared with veteran actor Nagarjuna. Sources close to the development suggest that Nagarjuna is highly impressed with the storyline and is keen to collaborate. If HIT 3 receives positive feedback, there’s a strong possibility that the project with Nagarjuna could commence later this year. Although HIT 4’s script is ready, it’s likely that Nagarjuna’s film will take priority.
After directing HIT 2, Sailesh briefly ventured into experimental filmmaking with Saindhav, starring Venkatesh, which was released during Sankranti 2024. Unfortunately, Saindhav did not achieve the expected box office success, leading many to believe that Sailesh’s true strength lies in crafting compelling crime thrillers.
Building on lessons from Saindhav, Sailesh is now preparing a new crime investigation thriller for Nagarjuna. While this film won’t be part of the HIT universe, it will carry the same gripping crime genre. After HIT 3’s release, Sailesh is expected to meet Nagarjuna with the completed script. If all goes well, Nagarjuna is likely to give the project the green light, and filming could begin soon.
Meanwhile, Nagarjuna is busy with his roles in Kubera and Coolie, both of which are set for release soon. If everything falls into place, Sailesh’s crime thriller with Nagarjuna could begin production in the near future, giving fans something exciting to look forward to in the coming year.
