Sai Durgha Tej Credits Director Deva Katta for Support During Tough Times

Actor Sai Durgha Tej on Thursday expressed gratitude to director Deva Katta for standing by him during a challenging phase of his life. Speaking at the trailer launch of Mayasabha, Tej recalled his decade-long association with the filmmaker.

“I have known Deva Katta for ten years. His film Autonagar Surya had a major impact on me. After watching its teaser, I introduced myself to him and later we often met at the gym, where I would request him to make a film with me. In 2021, we collaborated on Republic. That was also the time when my life changed due to a road accident. During that difficult phase, Deva stood firmly with me. The climax of Republic was exactly as I had envisioned,” Tej said.

Sharing a lighter moment, Tej added, “Deva had already told me about Mayasabha. When I expressed interest in acting in it, he jokingly said I should audition first. Aadhi Pinisetty and I used to practice dance and kickboxing together. After watching Chaitanya Rao’s web series 30 Weds 21, my mother started talking about my marriage, asking why I wasn’t married yet. I told her not to worry, I’ll marry soon.”

Directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar, Mayasabha stars Aadhi Pinisetty and Chaitanya Rao in lead roles. The political drama, which follows the story of two friends turning into political rivals, is set to release directly on Sony Liv on August 7. The film is planned as a three-part series, confirmed Deva Katta.
