Row over speculations on BRS Merger with BJP

Days after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that BRS soon will merge with BJP and also primary negotiations were also held, speculations on this move taking new turn. It has turned out to be a highly speculative one in the media also. Though BJP leaders like Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that BRS is in fact going to merge with Congress, no one is taking it seriously.

Interestingly no senior BRS leader is strongly denying that no formal discussions were held with BJP. However, the party has issued legal notices to Youtube channel RTV and its president Ravi Prakash for telecasting false news pertaining to the merger of the party with the BJP.

The media outlet has been asked to remove the misleading content from its Youtube channel and also social media accounts, besides tendering an unconditional apology.

In the legal notices issues, the BRS also asked the media outlet to refrain from creating/publishing defamatory, slanderous and libelous news reports and circulate them with an intent to tarnish the image of the party.

It may be recalled that the cold war between Ravi Prakash, who became popular with TV9 and BRS went viral since the beginning of the BRS government in Telangana. It went to the extent of at the instance of BRS top leaders, the management of TV9 was hijacked by others and ultimately Ravi Prakash was sent out from it.

Though nowadays, Ravi Prakash is maintaining a low profile with his Youtube channel, still BRS seems to be impatient with his pointed news flow.

Meanwhile, AndhraJyothy managing director Radha Krishna also in his weekly column on Sunday, alleged that one BJP-ruled state governor was attempting to break ice between BRS and BJP. The story pointed out that the recent two visits of both KTR and Harish Rao to Delhi was intended only to discuss with top BJP and RSS leaders.

According to the Andhra Jyothy story, BJP and RSS top leadership is insisting on merger of BRS into BJP, but BRS leadership is ready for a political alliance. The BJP is reportedly offering a Governor post to KCR, state party chief post to Harish Rao and release of Kavitha on bail from jail, if the BRS merges with BJP.

Meanwhile, BRS is hopeful that Kavitha is likely to be released on bail by the Supreme Court in a week and avoid any discussion on a merger of the party. On the other hand, BJP is not showing interest in political alliances as there are no immediate elections.
