As part of his Delhi visit, leaks have come from the CMO that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will meet Union Minister CR Patil once again and clarify the state government’s objections to the Banakacharla project and strongly request that permissions not be given for the construction of the project.
Accordingly, an appointment was also taken with Union Water Resources Minister CR Patil in Delhi on the 7th. But since the CM canceled the meeting with the Union Minister at the last minute, many doubts are being expressed in political circles. There is a serious discussion in the state Congress Party and on the other hand in government circles.
Why was the meeting canceled? What is the reason? They are deeply inquiring. It is known that CM Revanth Reddy had finalized his schedule and left for Delhi to meet the Water Resources Minister in the Monday afternoon. Reliable sources have revealed that the CM suddenly changed his mind without meeting the Union Minister after going to Delhi and the appointment has been cancelled.
On this occasion, allegations are being made that the Chief Minister did this due to pressure from government leaders in Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, Revanth Reddy’s going to Delhi alone to meet the Water Resource Minister is also causing a stir in Congress and government circles.
The opposition parties are already making allegations centered on Revanth Reddy over the Banakacharla controversy. Sources close to the CM said that if he meets the Union Minister alone at such a time without the State Irrigation Minister, it will give more strength to these allegations. That is why the appointment is being cancelled.
Those close to the Irrigation Minister, however, say that the Minister was not even asked to come with him, and the CM directly spoke to the irrigation officials and took a brief note and went to Delhi. He said that there is no question of canceling the appointment due to the absence of the Irrigation Minister.
It is known that Banakacharla was temporarily put on hold in the wake of the objections of the Central Expert Committee. Now, the Telangana Chief Minister is officially complaining and it is believed that the AP chief minister has sent an embassy stating that the project will become even more controversial if objections are raised at this juncture. Unless the CM and Minister Uttam open their mouths, the truth may not come out.
