Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju has created a political uproar in West Godavari by giving a `clean chit’ to Bhimavaram DSP Jaya Surya, after Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan complaining against him to district SP over phone and also seeking a report from the DGP against his performance.
Though Pawan Kalyan made serious accusations against the DSP alleging involvement in civil disputes, Raghurama created a row by calling him a good officer. This has irritated Pawan Kalyan’s fans, who have started trolling Raghurama over this.
Raghurama, who is on a tour of Visakhapatnam, has once again responded on Thursday, towards Pawan’s complaint regarding the Bhimavaram DSP affair, which seems likely to turn into a political controversy. He refused to retract his statements, saying that he had said what he had to say on the DSP’s behavior.
As an investigation is underway, he said action will be taken if something comes out of it. However, it is noteworthy that he did not claim to be supporting the DSP and spoke according to the information he had. Moreover, repeating his clean chit he asserted that no one had complained him about the DSP, though he has bee in Bhimavaram for five days in a week. Thus, it seems he indirectly expressed surprise at the complaints being given by Pawan Kalyan, who rarely comes to Bhimavaram.
Moreover, Raghurama concluded that he may or may not know everything about the DSP. He said that if it is found that the DSP has made mistakes during the investigation, action can be taken. But, he said that he was forced to comment on the performance of the DSP as it would not be good to remain silence when an officer under his jurisdiction is doing a good job.
He indirectly expressed surprise at Pawan Kalyan’s intervention in this matter, saying that his information may or may not be correct. However, he acknowledged concerns expressed by Pawan Kalyan, who responded as a responsible minister and a public representative, after receiving some information.
Thus, Raghurama tried to calm down the anger of Pawan Kalyan fans by saying that he is also a fan of Pawan Kalyan and that some Pawan fans are misunderstanding him. Raghurama’s comments in support of the Bhimavaram DSP went viral and his comments gained significance in the wake of the anger of Pawan Kalyan fans over this.
