River Godavari crosses second warning level at Bhadrachalam

The water level of the river Godavari crossed the second warning level of 48 feet at Bhadrachalam in the district on Wednesday. The water level at 10 PM on Wednesday stands at 48.10 feet. Currently, the discharge of the water level reads 11.50 lakh cusecs. Godavari crossed the first warning level of 44 feet by 3 PM with a reading of 44.40 feet.

With heavy rainfall all over and the release of flood water from the upstream projects, the water level is rising further. The officials have been alerted that the situation only getting worse with the rains not bogging down. Authorities have alerted the people who are living in the low-lying areas. It is expected that at least 5 feet level will be risen by morning with the incessant rains.

The third warning level will be issued after the water touches 53 feet. The authorities from both the Telugu-speaking states are on their feet analyzing the situation every hour.
