National Award-winning actor and director Rishab Shetty has surprised fans with the announcement of his next project with Sandeep Singh. The actor revealed that he is set to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his upcoming periodic action drama.
Renowned filmmaker Sandeep Singh, who was known for his works for many blockbuster films like Mary Kom, Ram Leela, Sarbjit, Bajirao Mastani, and many more, has collaborated with Rishab Shetty for this film. The announcement was made on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, through social media, revealing the first-look poster and title.
The poster features Rishab Shetty as India’s greatest warrior King, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and revealed the title as “The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.” They captioned the post, “Our Honour & Privilege, Presenting the Epic Saga of India’s Greatest Warrior King – The Pride of Bharat: #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj. This isn’t just a film – It’s a battle cry to honor a warrior who fought against all odds, challenged the might of the Mighty Mughal empire, and forged a legacy that can never be forgotten.”
The film promises to be a grand-scale production with top-notch VFX and a stellar technical team, aiming to present Shivaji Maharaj’s bravery. The film is scheduled to go on floors in mid-2025 and is slated for a grand theatrical release on January 21, 2027.
