Kannada actor Rishab Shetty, selected for the National Best Actor Award for his performance in “Kantara,” has expressed his delight at receiving this prestigious accolade.
In his response, Shetty dedicated the National Award to the late superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, divine powers, divine dancers, and the Kannada people. He highlighted that the climax episode in “Kantara,” where he portrayed a divine dancer, was designed to give an intense and exhilarating experience.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru after the announcement of the 70th National Film Awards by the central government, Shetty reiterated that from the beginning, he had committed to dedicating the award to Puneeth Rajkumar, the Kannada community, and the dancers. He also expressed gratitude to the “Kantara” team and Homable Films for their contributions.
Shetty noted that the film’s production company, Homable Films, won four National Awards, showcasing the significant growth of the Kannada film industry. He acknowledged the crucial roles played by his wife, Pragya Shetty, who was the film’s costume designer, and emphasized the importance of the music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath.
