Revenue Minister Satya Prasad has warned that those involved in land grabbing will face severe punishments and an iron fist will be applied to such land deals. He reminded that the Land Encroachment (Prevention) Act 2024 has already been brought.
He accused YSRCP leaders of grabbing people’s properties during Jaganmohan Reddy’s anarchy. He said that Jagan Reddy’s grabbing a major stake in Kakinada Port and giving it to Aurobindo was an example of anarchy.
He said that the coalition government has received more than 10,000 complaints about illegal land deals. He said that people can also file complaints about the land deals of YSRCP leaders in the revenue conferences to be held from the sixth of this month.
He lamented that the Jagan government has looted lands in the name of freehold. He said that re-verification is being done on assigned lands and dotted lands. He revealed that the previous government had taken away and sold 6 lakh acres of lands under 22A.
Satya Prasad said that during the YSRCP regime, the leaders of that party had threatened and snatched the assigned lands of the common people. He said that there were huge irregularities in the name of freehold lands. He assured that all of them would be unearthed.
The Revenue Minister assured that this government would stand by the people of all sections. Such scams have taken place on a large scale in Visakhapatnam. Speaker Ayyannapatrudu requested that this be discussed with the CM and a house committees will be formed on land issues as per the demand of the members and justice will be done.
Meanwhile, Former Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that there was severe damage due to transportation of ration rice from Kakinada port. He said that if there is any loss to the state revenue, the Vigilance Commission should investigate. He cautioned that if the investigation is delayed, there is a risk of the government getting a bad name.
